One of Dylan's favorite "games" right now is "Go Away Monster!" He plays the board game (thanks Uncle David!!) AND he plays it with Tom and me. Tom is usually the monster and they make that face in the picture. As soon as Tom gets too close, Dylan shouts, "go away monster!" and back slinks Tom into the monster pit. At other times, he chases one of us around the house, holding one of the monster pieces from his board game, or vice-versa.

It is such a fave, we've been playing it every day since he opened his game! As a side-effect, his throwing/aiming skills are getting pretty good (for the board game, you're supposed to throw monster tokens into the pit--he ends up throwing them as far across the room as he can manage!)...!

I've been feeling not quite 100% lately and I've mentioned this aloud to Tom. I've been so impressed with little Dylan. He comes by and asks, "are you ok? mommy?" and has even given me some of his favorite trains to play with to make me feel better. Last night, when I came up to the room to put him to bed, he said, "I have a hug for you"! It really does warm one's heart!
