Getty up!

No day is truly complete without a few pictures!

We went to the Getty today with Fred and the kids, and it was a gorgeous day for snapping shots.

dinner with Ty and Lynn

We got to have dinner with Ty and Lynn and the kids at Madeleine Bistro while we were in LA.

As always, the food was good, especially the dessert! We tried the creme brulee, chocolate cake, the bananas foster split, and a raspberry yummy thing that Ty ordered. Delicious!

Kieran and Keelan were both really sweet with Dylan, too! Keelan especially liked playing and talking with him, and Dylan, of course, loved the attention and the interaction!

We all had brunch then got down to the business of opening gifts. Later on, Candice, Cindy and Bob, and the Taylors (Jeff's side of the family) came over for dinner feasting and games.

As usual, Dylan had a grand time! The only prob was getting in his naps, but he managed a good 1.5 nap right before dinner, so he ended up with about close to 13 hours of sleep for the day!

Can't believe another year is about to end...

Today, we are getting ready to leave for LA.

Once Dylan falls asleep (hopefully, this will happen shortly after we give him a second meal of solids and a bath!), we're heading on out!

Christmas in the Park

12/23/06 - Dylan wakes up...
Originally uploaded by coffywoman.

We went to Christmas in the Park with the family on Friday night.

Dylan fell asleep in the car on the way over. Poor little guy has not been able to keep abreast of his zzzz's these past few days! Bananas and rice cereal finally started backing up in his system and he's been waking up in the middle of the night with thunderous gas!

We started him on pears 4 days ago, though, and finally saw some diaper action last night...whoa.

Anyway, I digress! After a quickie catnap of about 30 minutes, Dylan woke up! So, here he is with his daddy, wondering where the heck he is...

Before we headed out to the park, though, we had some appetizers at mom's and Dylan got a chance to play with Jason and hang out with his Auntie Christina before she left for work.

A few more photos are in the usual place...

and he's crawling like he's never crawled before...

He wore these at the latke party the other night, too, and had to endure Auntie Cindy singing "he's a maniac, maniac on. the. floor...."

Anyway, the little sucker is fast! We're calling him Flash, not just 'cuz he's got those crazy cute leg warmers on, but also because he can really zip around now...!

a busy weekend

My brother got married, we had a mini-holiday celebration with Heather, Assaf, Taliana and David, and then the next day, we made sweet potato latkes with ginger sour cream and classic potato latkes for the family.

We're looking forward to LA next week!

first night of Chanukah

lighting the menorah

We lit the candles a little late since I had to work tonight. Also, Dylan's a little on the blurry side here, but I liked this pic better than the other one....Now it's official! Happy Chanukah!!

one minute of sheer laughter

Here's another video of Dylan and Tom cracking up. Dylan really, really thinks Tom's "hiccups" are hilarious!!

who needs clothes??

Here's Dylan in our hotel room in Sonoma.

He got fussy during dinner with Tom's co-workers, so I took him upstairs to put him to sleep, but he apparently got a second wind as soon as we got back to the room! All he wanted to do was play and crawl around on the bed....

I couldn't "fight" him, not only because he was so darn adorable playing on that bed but, now that he's discovered that he can scoot himself around, getting him into new diapers and changing his clothes has become way more challenging!

tree

yay! 12/10/06
Originally uploaded by coffywoman.

We finally got our tree this past Sunday. It rained in the morning, but we lucked out and got sunshine while we were at the tree farm!

David, Taliana and Heather came over to help string the lights and hang ornaments. Before we started the festivities, though, we snapped this cute pic of the kiddies having fun "swooping" into each other.

eating

Well, Dylan is doing pretty well so far on the solids. He ate a complete serving of his brown rice cereal again today and followed up his meal with a little bit of water from the sippy cup and then some breastmilk.

So far, he hasn't had any noticeable constipation...if anything, he's actually pooping more! He's pretty much pooped every day, instead of his usual every other day schedule.

The past couple of days (yesterday and today), he has also slept astoundingly well shortly after having his cereal.

During Mothersong yesterday, he sacked out and actually stayed sleeping while we helped put away chairs, then while I put him in the car seat! He didn't wake up until after Taliana and Heather were back from playing at Together in the Park!

Today, he went into a fairly deep slumber for about an hour (awoke when I got a phone call from Heather)...

If eating solids means he's gonna nap well in the morning, I'm thrilled, especially since we haven't had any digestive issues so far!

Now that he's eaten cereal for 4 days, we're planning on introducing a new food tomorrow....

6 month check-up

Lots going on this week with the Dylan. He had his 6-month check-up...weighed in at 15 lbs. 6 oz (10th percentile) and 26.5" (50th percentile). The doctor says he was born at about the 10th percentile, so she isn't concerned with his growth "slowdown" and says that starting solids will probably help with the weight gain/growth (and reflux).

Dylan is also practicing his crawling skills in earnest (see vid!).

Today, we also started him on whole grain rice cereal. I'd say it was a pretty successful first attempt. He probably tried to eat about a tablespoon of cereal and, although it looked like he had a hard time swallowing it, he certainly showed a lot of interest in taking it in!

We've heard a lot about potential constipation issues with starting solids, so I'm hoping that nursing him after the solids meal will help prevent that....
